Husch Blackwell Partner John C. Crossley has been named to Ingram’s 40 Under Forty Class of 2012, an honor reserved for the most accomplished business and community leaders in the region under 40 years of age.
A Real Estate attorney in the firm’s Kansas City, Mo., office, Crossley has represented local corporations and entities in many of the area’s most significant recent real estate development projects. His projects include H&R Block’s development of a $250 million corporate headquarters in the Kansas City Live downtown entertainment district; representing J.E. Dunn Construction Company in the development and construction of its $65 million headquarters in downtown Kansas City; and representing Black & Veatch in its $51 million acquisition and expansion of its world headquarters in Overland Park, Kansas. Today, Crossley spends much of his time working on renewable energy finance and development, representing clients in the acquisition or financing of over 2,000 MW of generation capability in the past two years. In recent news, Crossley was an integral member of Husch Blackwell’s energy and infrastructure team which represented Toronto-based Algonquin Power & Utilities Co. in an $888 million acquisition of a portfolio of four wind power projects in Illinois, Iowa, Pennsylvania and Texas.

Crossley’s vested interest in the Kansas City community is evident in his work outside the firm as well. In 2011, Crossley was selected to Mayor Sly James’ Transition Team, chosen “because of his deep knowledge of community and economic development and because of his passion for promoting a strong metropolitan region,” said James. Crossley is also a Board Member of Brush Creek Community Partners, a group dedicated to the economic, physical and social redevelopment of Kansas City’s Brush Creek Corridor.
