Husch Blackwell Sanders has been named a recipient of the 2008 STAR Award from the St. Louis Family Violence Council in the category of Legal Supporter.
Organizations, individuals and businesses to receive this honor provide support to the St. Louis Family Violence Council. The Council “is delighted to recognize Husch Blackwell Sanders” with the award, “in appreciation of their generous financial support of our efforts.”
“Through their financial assistance, Husch Blackwell Sanders has demonstrated their commitment to ending domestic violence in our communities, and we thank them for being part of the solution,” says Ami Lilley Plexico, Executive Director for St. Louis Family Violence Council. The firm has been involved with the St. Louis Family Violence Council for two years and was a sponsor of the awards reception in 2007. Husch Blackwell Sanders will be recognized at an event, held in the St. Louis Mayor Francis G. Slay’s office on Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at 5:30 p.m. Husch Blackwell Sanders partner Alan Nemes will accept the award on behalf of the firm.

The St. Louis Family Violence Council is an association of both public and private organizations that supports and cares for victims of domestic violence and actively works toward stopping violent behavior in the community. Circle of Safety is the non-profit organization’s flagship program. Through this program, a safe environment is provided to victims of domestic violence. These individuals can receive services such as applying for an order of protection, filing a police report, legal assistance, and shelter referral from Circle of Safety.
