At its 2013 annual meeting in San Diego, the American Health Lawyers Association presented Husch Blackwell Partner Harvey Tettlebaum the David J. Greenburg Service Award. It is given to an individual who has shown great loyalty to AHLA throughout his or her career and who has made significant contributions to the growth and life of the association. AHLA is the nation’s largest, nonpartisan, 501(c)3 educational organization devoted to legal issues in the healthcare field and has more than 12,500 members.

Tettlebaum is a nationally recognized authority in healthcare law (including long-term care, compliance, and fraud and abuse defense), regulatory and administrative law. He has briefed and/or argued more than 100 appeals in appellate courts including the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit, and the Missouri Supreme Court and Court of Appeals. He also is the Managing Partner of Husch Blackwell’s Jefferson City, Mo., office.

“Harvey has served the association in extraordinary ways, as a member of the board, chair of a practice group, author, editor, speaker and in myriad leadership positions,” said AHLA President Dinetia Newman. “But just as important as Harvey’s leadership efforts have been — or perhaps even more important — is the manner in which he has served the association, particularly his dedication to AHLA’s public-interest mission.” Throughout the history of AHLA, which traces its origins back to 1968, Tettlebaum is only the 25th person to receive its service award.

Husch Blackwell’s Healthcare attorneys have extensive experience representing healthcare, life sciences and pharmaceutical clients in all types of litigation, regulatory enforcement actions and investigations throughout the country covering all facets of the industry.
