Husch Blackwell's Christian Peper was honored with the 2011 Excellence in Philanthropy Award by the Arts and Education Council at its 20th annual St. Louis Arts Awards event on January 24. The Council is a privately funded charitable organization that assists approximately 70 arts and education programs in the St. Louis area.

The award program recognizes individuals and organizations that have maintained a reputation of artistic excellence, and businesses that support regional cultural enrichment programs. Peper’s award was one of seven presented at the event.

Peper is a founding Partner of Husch Blackwell and practiced for a number of years in the areas of corporate, real estate and tax law. In December, he celebrated his 100th birthday and continues to be a faithful supporter of the Saint Louis Art Museum, a commitment he made more than four decades ago. Peper also served as Museum counsel for more than 25 years. In addition, he has loaned works of art to the Museum for temporary exhibitions, provided funds towards art acquisitions and donated works of art to the Museum’s permanent collection.
