The Center for Women in Transition presented Husch Blackwell with the 2011 Outstanding Community Partner award on April 1. Located in St. Louis, Mo., the Center is dedicated to helping women in the criminal justice system make a successful transition back into the community. The Center's Executive Director Nancy Kelly nominated Husch Blackwell for contributing pro bono legal expertise. "Husch Blackwell’s spirit of generosity to the non-profit community makes them stand out as a community partner,” Kelly said. Husch Blackwell has provided pro bono assistance to the center since 2006. Husch Blackwell Associate and Center volunteer Kate Heideman accepted the award on behalf of the firm at an award ceremony.
