Husch Blackwell Sanders associate Carlota Hopinks-Baul relocates from the firm’s Omaha office to the Clayton office to add strength to the Environmental, Water and Natural Resources department’s growing regulatory practice group.

Hopinks-Baul joined Husch Blackwell Sanders in 2007 after receiving her J.D. (2007), cum laude, from Creighton University. Prior to law school, she worked for many years in technical and regulatory capacities, including: lab analysis and quality assurance in environmental testing laboratories; regulatory oversight of industrial wastewater dischargers; and hazmat response, compliance assurance, and environmental stewardship policy and report development for a public utility.

Since joining Husch Blackwell Sanders, Hopinks-Baul has assisted corporate clients developing alternative energy plants, purchasing contaminated land for redevelopment, facing agency enforcement actions and private suits, developing plans to ensure compliance with environmental regulations, and seeking recovery of clean-up costs. Her move to Clayton is largely in response to the firm’s growing regulatory practice which is headquartered in the Clayton office and provides on-going regulatory, transactional, and litigation support on environmental, water and natural resources issues to all of Husch Blackwell Sanders' offices and clients nationwide.
