Focusing her practice on mass tort and product liability litigation, Tierra represents some of the world’s leading manufacturers in the equipment manufacturing, specialty chemical, and petrochemical industries.
As a member of several client teams, Tierra has experience in all stages of litigation including fact investigations, initial pleadings, discovery and developing trial defense strategies.
Tierra also has an active pro bono practice covering a variety of legal issues in state and federal court. Since joining the firm, Tierra has assisted in the defense of low-income families, small business owners, and federal prisoners who were denied fundamental rights. As a Senior Law Student, Tierra represented low-income individuals through the Civil Litigation Clinic at the University of Illinois where she negotiated and drafted several divorce and custody agreements and appeared before judges to finalize divorces.
Tierra researched and wrote memorandums on a variety of topics as an in-house intern at a global pharmaceutical company and as an intern for the Federal Defender Programs for both the Central and Northern Districts of Illinois. During her time with the Federal Defenders, Tierra also regularly communicated with clients and drafted several motions.
