Tom counsels a range of clients on the strategic protection, licensing and enforcement of intellectual property rights.
He has prepared and prosecuted many U.S. and international patent applications and secured patent rights for clients in construction, printing, manufacturing and computer-related technologies.
Tom has supervised and conducted intellectual property due diligence investigations for corporate mergers, acquisitions and refinancing, and has drafted and negotiated patent license, nondisclosure and joint development agreements.
Tom’s notable experience includes:
- Representing a Fortune 500 automotive parts manufacturer in patent counseling and litigation.
- Managing the intellectual property portfolio for a manufacturer of commercial washroom hardware and sanitary technologies.
Before attending law school, Tom received a bachelor’s of science, cum laude, in mechanical engineering from the University of Notre Dame. Tom also spent time as a research assistant at Cornell University.
