Shane’s practice includes real estate, hospitality and various matters involving railroads.
The hospitality component of his practice focuses on the development, acquisition and sale, branding, management, and operation of hotels. Shane counts these projects among his recent accomplishments:
- Representing the Wisconsin Center District in the development of a new $524 million downtown arena for the Milwaukee Bucks.
- Representing a real estate company in its acquisition of a downtown office building for conversion to a hotel.
- Advising the developer of a 200-unit condominium project in connection with its negotiations with a major worldwide hotel brand.
- Counseling an international corporation in the sale of its hospitality management assets located in Florida, California, British Columbia and Quebec to a major worldwide hotel brand.
- Representing an international developer in connection with the structuring, formation and registration of a complex 200-unit, mixed-use, urban condo-hotel project in Washington, D.C.
Shane also has significant experience with railroads, including converting rail corridors to public commuter rail and federally supported railroad improvement projects.
Before moving his practice to Denver, he practiced for a law firm in Washington, D.C., where he worked on various tax planning and controversy matters, real estate transactions, real estate investment trusts, asset-securitization transactions and securities offerings.
