Overview

Rob is a results-driven litigator with more than 10 years of experience as in-house counsel for technology companies.

Before joining Husch Blackwell, he spent 12 years immersed in the tech industry, handling commercial litigation, intellectual property matters and class actions.

Rob is passionate about defending clients’ rights in their products and technology. He’s known for his track record of litigation wins and favorable settlements, and for his proactive and effective counsel which helps clients minimize risk and exposure. Rob focuses quickly on the critical issues to reach a resolution with minimal cost for the client. After his time in-house, he understands client concerns about cost and efficiency, as well as client needs and priorities.

In addition to litigation, Rob has extensive experience representing clients in both government and internal investigations relating to breaches of data security and privacy, technology and trade secret theft, insider trading, Medicaid and Medicare fraud, FCPA and False Claims Act violations, and whistleblower complaints.

Experience
  • Experienced with large variety of litigation matters in both state and federal courts involving contractual disputes, intellectual property, products liability, insurance coverage, securities fraud and employment/labor.
  • Obtained more than $90 million in judgments and settlements on behalf of business clients through affirmative recoveries litigation.
  • Acted as lead attorney for more than 150 separate litigations and arbitrations for tech companies including significant multi-million and multi-billion dollar disputes. Successfully defended dozens of matters without client paying any settlement or judgment amount.
  • Managed and responded to government investigations and enforcement matters from the DOJ, FTC, SEC and NYSE relating to breaches of data security and privacy, insider trading, Medicaid and Medicare fraud, and violations of the FCPA and False Claims Act.
  • Represented Big Four accounting firms in individual and class actions alleging violations of state and federal securities laws, in which damages claimed exceeded $2 billion.
Outside the Office

Rob loves sports, especially baseball, and is a lifelong Yankees fan. He spends much of his free time with his family, which includes four young adult daughters.
