Michelle focuses her practice on product liability and complex tort litigation.

Service contractors, product manufacturers, distributors and suppliers are among those relying on Michelle’s counsel in asbestos product liability claims. Michelle has experience in all stages of litigation, including law and motion, depositions, trial preparation, trial and alternative dispute resolution.

Michelle is known for working directly with clients on depositions and step-by-step case management, while systemizing complex legal strategy with larger legal teams, including those acting as national coordinating counsel. Her skills in developing and managing complex defense strategy during toxic tort cases are informed by having previously practiced both insurance coverage litigation and employment law.

Experience
  • Served as national coordinating counsel for asbestos client, managing all phases of discovery.
  • Served on trial team for two of the first virtual trials in Alameda County, California.
  • Served on trial team in Alameda County, California. Plaintiff alleged decedent was exposed to defendant's asbestos-containing products while serving in the Navy. Defense verdict was reached by jury.
  • Second chaired asbestos trial in Contra Costa County, California. Plaintiff alleged take-home exposure to defendant's asbestos-containing pipe. Defense verdict was reached by jury.
Outside the Office

Michelle stays busy with her school-aged son and daughter, and their involvement in competitive soccer and dance, respectively. The family includes two cats and two bunnies. Michelle enjoys photography just for fun. And she likes reading recommendations, from biographies to thrillers to the dragon fiction popular with her children.
