Mike is an experienced federal court litigator focusing his practice on patent and trade secret litigation.
Mike represents businesses of all sizes–from startups and individuals to Fortune 500 companies–in high-stakes intellectual property litigation throughout the United States. He has successfully resolved significant disputes involving a wide range of technologies and products, including artificial intelligence, IoT devices, cellular phones, pharmaceuticals and computer software. Clients value his ability to find creative solutions for protecting innovations that drive the economy.
Mike has managed all aspects of complex litigation in federal district court, from leading aggressive discovery efforts to successfully briefing dispositive and other significant motions. He has also argued complex appeals in both federal and state courts, and served as the principal brief writer in more than two-dozen appeals.
Before joining the firm, Mike served as the General Counsel and Deputy Attorney General for Special Litigation in the Missouri Attorney General’s Office. In those senior leadership roles, he managed many of the state’s most high-profile and sensitive matters. Many of his cases involved complex technical issues, including the misappropriation of proprietary data, cybersecurity, consumer online privacy and structural design standards. He also advised government officials on a wide range of compliance, policy and communications issues.
