Mike is a corporate and transactional lawyer focused on the energy sector, particularly renewable power, clean energy technologies and midstream natural gas.

He is a key member of Husch Blackwell's energy sector acquisition and capital markets teams. Mike’s experience encompasses all aspects of the development, acquisition and financing of wind, solar, oil and gas projects throughout the country. He works closely with clients to ensure an efficient and effective deal process, regularly preparing principal transaction agreements, identifying and managing disclosures and leading efforts on a wide variety of other transaction documentation and issues.

In addition to his energy transactional work, Mike assists clients, particularly those engaged in emerging technologies, with matters related to business structuring and governance, commercial transactions, acquisitions and other strategic transactions.

Mike’s keen insight into the energy sector is informed by his prior experience working with complex financial models with a major Wall Street bank, and by his knowledge of environmental law matters specific to the energy sector gained through clerkships with the Arizona Attorney General’s office, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the Environment and Natural Resources Division of the U.S. Department of Justice.
