With a degree in computer science, Megan is a natural collaborator on the firm’s Internet of Things team. She’s passionate about applying her technical knowledge in computer programming and software development to help clients protect their ideas, inventions and intellectual property. Megan regularly assists clients with patents, trademarks, copyrights and trade secrets. She guides individuals and companies at all phases of maturity: from student entrepreneurs to global corporations.

Megan also enjoys putting her computer science skills to work when helping clients on matters of data privacy and software licensing. She monitors and navigates evolving state, federal and international regulations and statutes on behalf of clients, ensuring clients meet or exceed compliance challenges such as the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).

Outside the Office

Megan is a wine enthusiast and traveler.

Megan studied for the Certified Specialist of Wine (CSW) exam while completing her legal coursework. As such, Italy and California’s wine country are among her top travel destinations. She also enjoys hiking, with Zion and Glacier National Parks being among her most memorable hiking trips. As a golfer, she enjoys playing courses around the Kansas City area, while TPC Scottsdale and Harbour Town Golf Links have been her favorite courses to visit while traveling.

Community Leadership

Megan and her family collaborate each holiday season with Operation Breakthrough, a Kansas City non-profit with the mission of assisting children in poverty and empowering their families. Megan pairs up with a local family annually, shopping for toys, clothing, winter coats, gifts and essentials from a wish list, delivering items for parents to wrap and give to their children.
