Maureen concentrates her practice on advising clients on the acquisition, development, financing, operation and disposition of industrial and retail properties, mixed-use developments and master-planned communities.

She provides practical legal solutions that serve the business objectives and manage the legal risks of the client.

At Husch Blackwell, Maureen specializes in representing self-storage clients in the acquisition of self-storage facilities. She routinely represents one of the largest publicly traded self-storage REITs on its acquisitions.

Before joining Husch Blackwell, Maureen worked extensively in both the public and private sectors. She served for several years as in-house counsel at the University of New Mexico, representing the university in real estate matters that included significant development projects involving public-private partnerships. Maureen also worked in-house on general corporate legal matters for a private real estate investment and management company. She represented the company in the acquisitions, dispositions, refinances and leasing matters involved with its national portfolio of 135 buildings spanning 15.9 million square feet of office and retail space in 22 states. In addition, Maureen served as Assistant Attorney General for State of Kosrae, Federated States of Micronesia.

  • Represented a self-storage REIT client in its acquisition of a 66 property portfolio located across 12 states for a purchase price of $630 million. 
  • Represent a private, multi-state owner and operator of self-storage facilities in the acquisition of self-storage facilities, including single facility acquisitions to multi-facility acquisitions.
  • Represented the University of New Mexico on a public-private partnership focused on development of more than 39 acres of unimproved land for mixed use, retail and residential.
  • Represented a private REIT in its acquisitions and dispositions of multiple commercial properties comprising more than 2 million square feet.
  • Represent a developer in its development of a master-planned community spanning more than 1,000 acres.
