Maura currently focuses her practice on private wealth matters, navigating the complex arena of estate and gift taxes.

She regularly assists families with updating and drafting estate planning documents and is skilled at navigating the forms and filings required for probate administration. Additionally, she assists companies with non-profit entity formation and issues related to qualifying for and maintaining tax-exempt status.

Maura joins the firm after serving as a summer associate in 2016. Her acute attention to detail and drafting experience make her an essential asset when analyzing agreements and contracts, which has most recently been utilized by the firm’s growing Higher Education team. She’s often researching in-depth regulatory issues to determine how changing laws will affect educational institutions.

Maura also has an active pro bono practice which includes volunteering for the Eviction Defense Project, a clinic aimed at assisting low income families facing eviction in the Milwaukee area.

Prior to attending law school, Maura worked with the Alumni Relations and Development team at the University of Chicago, supporting and strategizing with the principal gifts team and engaging alumni celebrating milestone reunions. Maura also spent two years as a full time volunteer with Project YES!, an education and community focused AmeriCorps program serving inner-city Chicago.
