An accomplished litigator, Mary Pat has a proven ability to win cases. Over her 14-year career as an Assistant Circuit Attorney for the City of St. Louis, her analytical, investigative, and organizational skills drove results in the courtroom. Notably, she prosecuted 87 trials to verdict and achieved a 100% conviction rate in homicide cases.
Mary Pat’s first-hand criminal knowledge is an asset to her clients and Husch Blackwell’s Government Compliance, Investigations & Litigation team. As a career prosecutor, she argued a variety of hearings on pre-trial matters, dispositive motions, and sentencing at all levels and gained deep experience with trial preparation, including coordinating with and preparing law enforcement and expert witnesses. Mary Pat’s criminal experience includes prosecution of homicide, robbery, assault, sex crime, and child abuse cases.
A skilled leader, Mary Pat previously supervised a team of trial attorneys and mentored entry-level attorneys on legal issues and trial practice. She personally held regular training sessions and served as a faculty member for both the National District Attorney’s Association and the Missouri Office of Prosecution Services.
Mary Pat began her legal career as an Assistant State’s Attorney in the St. Clair County State’s Attorney’s Office in Belleville, IL.
