Mark helps clients solve problems that can’t be avoided and avoid problems that can’t be solved.
Mark draws on a quarter century of experience, primarily as a litigator, to represent clients in toxic tort cases and general commercial litigation matters. He has successfully represented some of the largest corporations in the nation, as well as individuals and small businesses, and he has appeared in courtrooms from coast to coast, recovering and saving tens of millions of dollars for clients. Alongside his litigation work, Mark also serves certain clients as sole outside counsel, handling everything from mergers and acquisitions to contract disputes to international arbitrations. He has a true gift for unraveling knotty problems.
Central to his skill with jury trials, Mark has his eye on potential trial strategy from day one of a case. Rather than attempting to force jurors to think like attorneys, he aims to think like a juror and present arguments that will resonate with the jury. Jurors have commented to Mark on how much they trusted him in the courtroom.
In addition to his trial work, clients also benefit from Mark’s mediation and alternative dispute resolution skills. A certified federal mediator, he has even been asked to help other attorneys settle disputes with clients. Mark has previously represented both plaintiffs and defendants, owned his own business, represented small businesses and served as in-house counsel for a Fortune 500 company—experiences that mean he’s sat on every side of disputes and has a broad perspective that helps him achieve creative resolutions prior to trial.
Mark’s experience as in-house counsel also helps him provide superior client service. He has an insider’s understanding of what in-house lawyers need and find helpful from law firms, and he grasps the full breadth of the many business issues in-house staff are navigating. Mark aims to provide solutions that not only solve the problem at hand but also fit with a client’s larger business challenges and goals.
