Luke represents clients in complex litigation in state and federal courts across the country, with experience both as first chair trial counsel and as a member of a larger trial team. His clients range in size from publicly-traded Fortune 500 companies to regional businesses, private startups, entrepreneurs and other small businesses. His practice focuses primarily in the healthcare, real estate, development and construction, and manufacturing industries.
Luke has significant experience defending medical providers, including physicians and skilled-nursing facilities, against allegations of negligence, wrongful death and professional malpractice. He also represents pharmacies, pharmacy benefit managers and other healthcare industry clients in a variety of commercial disputes.
In his real estate, development & construction practice, Luke regularly represents architects, engineers, owners and contractors in various disputes, including claims for defective design and construction and delay allegations. He also has experience resolving claims involving real estate sale contracts, commercial leases, easements and restrictive covenants.
Luke also routinely defends manufacturing clients against products liability and toxic tort claims. He has litigation experience handling all levels of discovery, including e-discovery, deposing fact and expert witnesses, preparing and arguing successful dispositive motions, and working on teams to oversee the day-to-day management of hundreds of active cases.
Luke has an active pro bono practice, primarily counseling individuals through the firm’s relationship with Grace Hill Settlement House and Casa de Salud.
Prior to joining the firm, Luke was a middle school math teacher in Edcouch, Texas through Teach For America.
