Kurt focuses his practice on commercial, real estate and civil rights defense litigation, representing corporations, municipalities and individuals.

Kurt’s experience, including jury trials in state and federal court, includes:

  • Successfully defending municipalities and school districts in Wisconsin against First Amendment claims of freedom of speech; excessive force, failure to protect, and cruel and unusual punishment and denial of due process in the law enforcement context; and zoning and land use disputes.
  • Representing clients in real estate litigation involving title defense, easement disputes, foreclosure, reformation, partition and landlord-tenant disputes at the trial court and appellate court levels.

Kurt has substantial experience practicing in Wisconsin state courts and the Wisconsin Court of Appeals, federal district courts in the Eastern and Western District of Wisconsin, and the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals.  

Prior to joining the firm, Kurt served as a law clerk to the Hon. David T. Prosser Jr. of the Wisconsin Supreme Court. Before law school, Kurt was a legislative aide in the Wisconsin State Assembly.
