Overview

With more than 20 years of experience as a corporate compliance officer, Kathy helps clients understand and manage compliance risk.

Kathy’s role is to assist clients in the practical implementation of the legal analysis offered by attorneys. She works with in-house compliance teams to assess risk, helping clients evaluate their highest risk areas, such as Antitrust, Anticorruption, Privacy & Data Protection and Third Party Risk Management matters. Kathy collaborates with clients to develop corporate compliance programs, codes of conduct and training programs, or to analyze existing systems for potential areas of improvement.

Kathy has the extensive experience necessary to know exactly where a client’s highest risk is and to advise clients how they can best allocate their compliance resources. In her 20-year corporate career, she served as Vice President of Corporate Compliance for Cingular Wireless and AT&T and as Chief Compliance Officer of Energizer Holdings. In addition, Kathy spent 10 years focusing on data protection matters as a Chief Data Privacy Officer. Her background also gives her an important perspective in working with the firm’s clients: after a lengthy in-house career, she readily understands clients’ concerns, needs and business goals.

For Kathy, compliance isn’t just about rules; it’s also about relationships. She makes it a priority to get to know her clients, many of whom comment on the ease of working with her and on how much she cares about their companies. Kathy sees relationships and trust as the key not only to offering good compliance advice, but also to helping clients understand their risk and the reasons behind necessary policies.
