Having studied law in Germany, Katharina is passionate about helping clients with their immigration matters.

Katharina earned a six-year German degree in legal studies and completed a six-month clerkship with the District Court Dusseldorf before arriving in the United States. She now enjoys collaborating on the firm’s Immigration Team through research and client service. With her applied knowledge of government agency processes, including those with the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), and Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Katharina assists legal teams and clients on matters involving:

  • DOL labor certification applications
  • Drafting, reviewing, editing and assembling agency documents
  • Adjustment of status applications
  • Work- and family-based nonimmigrant and immigrant petitions

Before joining the firm, Katharina completed a legal internship at an international steel recycling company based in Germany. Additionally, she handled management, training and planning for labor and employment–based professional development courses, also in Germany.

  • Saved innumerable euros for German-based global leader in stainless steel industry by reviewing English-to-German contract terms during legal internship, and identifying fine-print terms and conditions of product deliverables.
  • Served as legal, compliance, insurance and corporate responsibility intern with international stainless steel company, conducting research; drafting letters of dismissal and statements of claim; reviewing employment contracts, service contracts and confidentiality agreements; and drafting sustainability report.
  • Completed six-month clerkship to Hon. Hartmut Hoppach, District Court Dusseldorf, attending civil trials and drafting weekly court decisions in matters of traffic, tenancy and travel.
  • Handled all aspects at one of 100+ branches for company offering 200+ labor & employment–based professional development courses.
Outside the Office

Katharina is an avid vegan baker.

Her specialty is cupcakes, although she has ready substitutions for almost any favorite recipe. She’s also a pianist and enjoys kayaking throughout the United States. An animal lover, Katharina shares her home with a cat, a 100-lb dog and a puppy brought home during the pandemic.
