As a real estate attorney, Kara assists clients on development of utility-scale renewable energy projects.
Kara works primarily with investors and developers of large-scale renewable energy projects in the wind and solar sector. She regularly represents clients in the real estate aspects of negotiating large-scale purchase and sale transactions, leases and easements, title and survey diligence, and financings. Kara also represents landlords and tenants in commercial leasing matters and has represented clients in a variety of retail, office, mixed-use, multi-family and raw land transactions.
Prior to beginning her private practice, Kara served as in-house counsel for a leading Texas real estate trade association. She also worked within the industry as counsel for the U.S. headquarters of a multinational infrastructure firm focusing on public-private partnerships (PPP) with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT). Clients value her experience and unique viewpoint as she navigates their large-scale deals from idea to actuality.
