Seeing the big picture is important to Devon.
As a journalism undergrad, Devon found that the most interesting class she took was communication law, foreshadowing her future career path. But before embarking on that path, she experienced what she describes as being a “small-town kid with big-city dreams” while working in political affairs in Washington, D.C.
The more she learned about how laws were made and enforced, the more she wanted to see the big picture and understand the legal process from every angle. In law school, her journalism skills were an advantage; she excelled in legal writing courses and appellate moot court, even winning a best oralist award in the International Criminal Court competition.
Prior to joining the firm, she served as a judicial intern for the Hon. Lance M. Africk, U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Louisiana.
