Overview

Dave is an experienced intellectual property attorney who counsels high-tech companies in patent litigation matters.

He routinely represents clients in U.S. District Courts, the U.S. International Trade Commission, and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

Dave has successfully represented life sciences and technology companies as both plaintiffs and defendants in patent infringement lawsuits around the country. He has litigated 100+ patent cases involving myriad technologies, such as pharmaceuticals, medical devices and software, computer hardware and software, wireless technologies, telecommunications, networking, consumer products, mechanical devices and electronics. He has successfully argued patent claim construction hearings and dispositive motions, and has obtained favorable jury verdicts in patent and trade secret cases. He also has substantial experience in Hatch-Waxman litigation and large-scale patent due diligence projects, patent prosecution and post-grant proceedings at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. He is a registered patent attorney.

Prior to joining Husch Blackwell, Dave practiced at the Minneapolis office of a large national intellectual property law firm, and later with a Boston-based patent licensing company. Dave also familiarized himself with client business demands in a previous position with management and operation of information technology infrastructure at a Milwaukee-based Fortune 500 company.
