Overview

A former Wisconsin Department of Revenue Auditor, Crystal has an insider’s knowledge about tax audits with boots-on-the-ground experience to help clients nationwide.

Crystal consults business clients on how to avoid tax violations and, when faced with state and local tax audits, assists in defending their positions. Her eight years of experience as a state auditor provided valuable internal training on how state audits work, which helps her now offer practical advice to clients on tax matters. Crystal relates to business owners who are trying their best to pay their taxes, and she understands that tax laws can be complicated. She prefers to proactively solve client problems before audit, but her background arms her with the information to advise clients on any pending or ongoing audit.

Crystal’s experience is not just focused on Wisconsin tax laws; her multistate experience spans states nationwide. A people person, she enjoys talking with contractors, manufacturers, plant managers, CEOs and anyone involved in the decision-making process in any state to find the tax solutions clients need.

Prior to joining the firm, Crystal owned her own sales and use tax consulting business.

Outside the Office

Crystal enjoys spending time with family, especially at her in-law’s lake house.

Crystal’s family keeps her busy. She and her husband have two school-age boys and four pets: two dogs, a cat and a hedgehog. During the summer months, the family visits her in-law’s lake house where they enjoy fishing, boating and swimming.

Community Leadership

Crystal serves on the board of an organization that contributes to youth groups in the local community.

The Appleton Noon Optimist Club is a local chapter of Optimist International, a worldwide volunteer service organization whose members aim to create a brighter future for children, their communities and themselves. As treasurer of the local chapter, Crystal helps raise funds from community members through fundraising, donations and dues and ensures that the funds are distributed to youth groups. She appreciates how the club sprinkles funds to several youth groups rather than helping just one specific group.
