Overview

As former in-house counsel for a major Texas bank, Brian is uniquely qualified to advise financial institutions at all levels.

He speaks “banker,” and therefore understands the needs, concerns and demands of the financial services industry, and has significant experience helping banking executives and financial professionals navigate the ever-changing legal and business environment.

Brian is passionate about bank lending, having closed thousands of loans for his banking clients. Many of his transactions involve commercial real estate, where Brian and his team prepare and negotiate loan documents, review and resolve title and survey matters, and counsel clients on construction projects, such as retail shopping centers, hotels, multi-family projects and industrial and office buildings.

Brian serves as a valuable resource to new banks needing an industry expert. He recently partnered with a newly formed bank in Dallas, helping to craft its treasury management terms and conditions. Brian works extensively to create documents that accurately set forth bank offered services in a way that is safely within the regulatory framework applicable to the particular client and the particular service.

Existing banks often turn to Brian for advice in understanding new or changing regulations, to manage real estate portfolios, to establish factoring portfolios and relationships, and to assist with mergers and acquisitions.

Client communication is Brian’s highest priority. Clients value his broad experience in and knowledge of banking and the financial services industry, and especially appreciate his responsive nature and active approach to the practice of law.
