Benjamin admires the entrepreneurial spirit of the clients he helps in his corporate cannabis law practice.

Benjamin’s practice involves working with clients starting new businesses, assisting businesses as they grow and generally helping build Colorado’s cannabis industry. He prepares operating agreements to help startup companies, drafts contracts and ensures regulatory compliance for mergers and acquisitions as companies begin to cash out or consolidate. He keeps up on day-to-day reporting, inspections and law changes for this new industry.

In addition to corporate law matters, Benjamin works on employment agreements for clients working with the labor and employment team and updates school policies for clients working with the education team. He brings to his practice experience as a summer associate at Husch Blackwell.

Before joining the firm, Benjamin served as a judicial extern for the Hon. Milton I. Shadur at the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. He worked as a legal intern at the U.S. Department of Education Office for Civil Rights, writing legal memoranda, drafting notification letters to universities and school districts, and analyzing policies and procedures for schools. At the Donald Pritzker Entrepreneurship Law Center, he helped new businesses navigate the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office procedures to protect their trademarks.

Before attending law school, Benjamin worked as a behavioral therapist for children with autism.
