An experienced estate planning attorney, Ashley enjoys guiding families and businesses toward secure paths in asset management, today and for the future.

Ashley advises families, individuals, businesses, Fortune 500 corporations and nonprofits on estate planning, tax matters and asset protection. She approaches each client’s financial goals with individuated legal strategies, while applying practical and proven solutions. Ashley works closely with each client on a wide range of complex high-net-worth wealth matters including:

  • Wills, trusts and estate planning
  • Probate and estate administration
  • Gift and other tax returns
  • Medicaid and Social Security issues for special needs trusts

Appreciated as a lifelong learner, Ashley is continually monitoring legal trends on behalf of clients. She is especially interested in the legal issues surrounding remote estate planning, electronic wills and virtual witnesses. Tax, Trust, and Estate Planning

  • Drafted trust and estate planning documents, including wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, financial and medical durable powers of attorney, living wills, healthcare declarations, qualified spousal trusts, life insurance trusts, charitable remainder and lead trusts, family trusts, dynasty trusts, qualified personal residence trusts, discretionary trusts, generation-skipping trusts and asset protection trusts.
  • Researched and designed estate planning tool during COVID-19 pandemic illustrating electronic notarization and virtual witness requirements across all 50 states.

Estate and Trust Administration/Probate

  • Counseled professional and nonprofessional administrators of trusts and estates on fiduciary duties.
  • Assisted with probate and trust administration, fiduciary income tax returns and accountings.

Asset Protection

  • Advised clients on asset-protection strategies, risk and exposure, both during life and after death using asset protection trusts, irrevocable trusts, limited liability companies, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, and insurance planning.

Special Needs

  • Counseled clients on use of special needs trusts and guardianships and conservatorships, preparing special needs trusts, testamentary special needs trusts and other discretionary trusts.
Outside the Office

Ashley and her husband, an active Serviceman, have two young children. She looks forward to introducing the little ones to cheering on St. Louis sports teams and traveling as much as possible.

Community Leadership

With a husband in the military, Ashley is especially dedicated to initiatives supporting Veterans, Servicepeople and their families. She is also involved in the University of Illinois College of Law Alumni Board. Since law school, Ashley has also regularly donated her legal skills to the Legal Services of Eastern Missouri, preparing estate planning documents for low-income individuals.
