When a dispute occurs, she is a vigorous advocate and skilled negotiator, working tirelessly to reach favorable outcomes for clients. She has defended single-plaintiff, class action and Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA) matters. Amberly represents clients in arbitration and litigation as well as before government agencies, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH).

  • Obtained appellate court decision in the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals affirming order granting summary judgment on former employee's claims of discrimination, harassment and retaliation.

Social Media

  • Successfully developed and implemented strategy to obtain removal of negative social media posting by former employee by prosecution of action under unfair competition statutes.
  • Develops and audits social media policies.

Crisis Management

  • Counseled numerous clients on COVID-19-related issues, including reductions in force, unemployment insurance and compliance with the leave requirements of the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA).
  • Served on legal task force advising numerous employers on Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, including Paycheck Protection Program (PPP), FFCRA leave tax credits and Employee Retention Credits during COVID-19.
Outside the Office

Amberly enjoys pilates, yoga and anything that gets her outdoors. She loves taking time out with her husband and friends for camping, hiking, and bicycling. Amberly and her husband have maintained a yearly tradition of camping in Death Valley during the Thanksgiving holiday and enjoy exploring off and on road together on their dual sport motorcycles.

Community Leadership

Amberly loves dogs and, while she does not currently have any permanent pets, she fosters dogs and supports Frosted Faces Foundation, a local San Diego rescue for elderly dogs.
