Adam brings a deep knowledge of government affairs to his practice and helps clients work with government entities to move their interests forward.
As a partner at Husch Blackwell LLP and a principal at Husch Blackwell Strategies, Adam lobbies and provides policy and regulatory law support to public and private sector clients at the local, state and federal levels of government.
Adam’s wide-ranging experience includes working on behalf of a public entity to identify a private contractor and negotiate terms to advance a billion-dollar airport project. He also advocated on behalf of a major casino and entertainment company regarding international tax and online gambling issues. He facilitated a legislative compromise in the Affordable Care Act, clearing the way for a physician-owned hospital to provide general acute care services to military families. He also advanced the interests of a coalition of companies negatively affected by the recent legislative changes to the federal tax code.
Adam previously served as chief democratic counsel and staff director to the House Veterans Affairs Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations. Prior to that, he served as associate counsel to the Senate Committee on Education & Labor, and senior legislative assistant in the U.S. House of Representatives.
Adam feels a personal responsibility toward working to improve his community and elevating the level of political discourse in America. He is active with a number of nonprofit and community groups, including the Urban League, the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum and the Harry S. Truman Library Institute & Museum.
