Abagael pursued a career as a paralegal because she loves to help people—a goal she meets daily as she assists attorneys and clients with product liability and other commercial litigation.
After earning her paralegal certificate, Abagael joined a personal injury plaintiff firm, where she worked regularly with medical providers, medical records, Medicare, Medicaid and private insurance companies. She especially enjoyed helping clients navigate the complex litigation process, and she joined Husch Blackwell in order to have more frequent and in-depth opportunities to work with litigation.
Today, Abagael supports the firm’s commercial litigation matters, with an emphasis on product liability and mass tort. She assists with gathering medical records and preparing for trial; files pleadings, exhibits and correspondence; and oversees court dates and deadlines. Abagael draws extensively on her background in working with medical detail, as well as her experience working with plaintiffs and plaintiffs’ counsel, which gives her a useful perspective on the opposition’s strategies and processes.
Abagael also works frequently with a multinational financial technology company, assisting in the management of the client extranet created by the firm. In addition, she trains new team members and establishes best practices for the team.
Abagael is known for being attentive and thorough, but most of all for simply being helpful. Clients and attorneys appreciate her responsiveness and her readiness to fully answer questions, and clients can feel confident that matters left in her hands will be taken care of.
