Shawn is a senior paralegal who focuses on labor and employment, construction and personal injury litigation.

Shawn is experienced in all phases of litigation at the state and federal levels, from pre-suit investigation to trial. He has assisted in many onsite discovery investigations, document reviews and productions. Shawn has assisted attorneys in numerous trials using various trial software systems.

Additionally, Shawn is a key player within the firm when it comes to integrating new technology into day-to-day best practices that attorneys, paralegals and staff use to serve clients more efficiently and cost-effectively. He has trained the firm’s legal professionals in state-of-the-art trial technology. Shawn also served on a committee to establish protocols regarding secure data retention, client documentation and upgrades. Shawn understands that technology, security and customer service is part of each client’s optimal legal defense.

  • Served on legal team that secured a favorable verdict for the family of a deceased U.S. veteran in a wrongful death action against the U.S. government.
  • Served as lead paralegal and trial technologist in a lawsuit that resulted in the largest reported compensatory damages awarded in a wrongful death case tried in Kansas, largest negligent entrustment award in Kansas, and the largest reported "alter ego" damages award in Kansas.
  • Served as lead paralegal in a $200,000 wrongful death settlement without filing a case.
