Melissa assists clients and attorneys with complex financial litigations matters.

Melissa has many years of experience helping case teams as well as clients in franchise law, covenants not to compete and trade secrets, corporate securities, banking, real estate, partnership, landlord and tenant, breach of fiduciary duty and product liability claims. She now concentrates in the areas of:

Melissa facilitates all phases of the litigation process at the state and federal levels. She manages cases from initial investigation through large-scale document production, arbitration and pretrial preparation. She assists attorneys with complex, multiparty, high-profile litigation cases at trial and is highly skilled in trial software systems, eDiscovery and other technologies that move clients matters forward cost-effectively and efficiently so they can get back to business.

  • Served on legal team that obtained favorable jury verdict for international manufacturing client and avoided $14 million claim in product liability matter including failure to warn and defective product design
  • Assisted legal team on obtaining $1.45 million verdict in jury trial and later appellate victory for Litex Industries Ltd in negligent misrepresentation lawsuit.
  • Served as lead paralegal and trial technologist in case obtaining defense verdict for client in age and disability case.
  • Helped case team in prosecuting claim for unjust enrichment arising out of theft of check.
  • Assisted attorneys in obtaining $600,000 verdict for plaintiff in contract claim arising out of payment of altered cashier's checks.
  • As lead paralegal and trial technologist, helped in prosecuting fraud claim against distributor of counterfeit aviation engine inner and outer combustion liners. Plaintiff's verdict was $450,000 in actual damages and $900,000 in punitive damages.
  • Assisted legal team in obtaining $1.4 million verdict in prosecuting claims for negligence arising out of transportation of aircraft.
  • Helped case team in obtaining $2.5 million verdict in prosecuting breach of contract claims arising out of investment banking transaction.
Outside the Office

Melissa loves traveling with her family.

Her two daughters enjoy trips where they can white water raft and hike. Melissa’s favorite vacation spot is the Caribbean island of Saint Martin.

Community Leadership

Melissa helps pets find their forever homes.

Melissa volunteers for Dallas Animal Services and East Lake Pet Orphanage, two local organizations that help homeless pets find owners. Until those matches are made, Melissa and her family foster dogs in need of temporary homes away from shelters. She also helps families find the right pets for their homes at adoption events.
