Melissa is a senior paralegal who concentrates in the areas of contract disputes, employer and employee relations disputes, collections matters, fraud, civil antitrust claims and issues relating to the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO).

She also has experience in franchise law, covenants not to compete and trade secrets, corporate securities, banking, real estate, partnership, landlord and tenant, breach of fiduciary duty and product liability claims.

Melissa is experienced in all phases of the litigation process at the state and federal levels. She manages cases from initial investigation through large-scale document production, arbitration and pretrial preparation. She assists attorneys with complex, multiparty, high-profile litigation cases at trial and is highly skilled in trial software systems such as Sanction.

As lead paralegal and trial technologist, Melissa has assisted with:

  • Obtaining a $1.45 million verdict in a jury trial and later an appellate victory for Litex Industries Limited in negligent misrepresentation lawsuit.
  • Obtaining a defense verdict for a client in an age and disability case.
  • Prosecuting a claim for unjust enrichment arising out of theft of check.
  • Obtaining $600,000 verdict for plaintiff in a contract claim arising out of payment of altered cashier’s checks.
  • Prosecuting fraud claim against distributor of counterfeit aviation engine inner and outer combustion liners. Plaintiff’s verdict was $450,000 in actual damages and $900,000 in punitive damages.
  • Obtaining $1.4 million verdict in prosecuting claims for negligence arising out of transportation of aircraft.
  • Obtaining $2.5 million verdict in prosecuting breach of contract claims arising out of investment banking transaction.
