Julie is a paralegal assistant and administrative coordinator for the St. Louis Cortex office, which advises startups on intellectual property law, business structure and growth strategies.

Julie aids senior paralegals and attorneys in filing documents with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), managing patent assignments and editing patent drawings for fast turnaround.

In addition, she manages special projects for the firm, such as the Technology, Manufacturing & Transportation Industry Insider blog, and acts as an administrator for the firm’s AdvanceLaw program, a network that helps member general counsel find and retain trusted legal counsel.

Julie also manages daily administration of the Cortex office. She assists attorneys with client management, preparation of client documents, tracking of client success stories and management of special events in the office.

Outside the Office

Julie grew up in the St. Louis suburbs but now lives in the city with her husband and dog.

She stays busy trying new restaurants and getting acquainted with the city.

Julie also enjoys exploring new destinations, where she hikes, kayaks and visits local museums and restaurants. She likes to document her trips to destinations such as Scotland, England and France with photography.
