In the arena of business law, Stephen takes pride in representing businesses of all sizes, from entrepreneurs and startups, to small and family-run businesses, to national-level corporations.
He assists clients in a wide variety of disciplines, including medical practices, insurance, software development and licensing, building and construction trades, veterinary medicine and related hospital services, trucking and transportation, and professional services.
Stephen has spoken and published on a variety of topics, including in the national Benefits Law Journal on pre-funding retiree health benefits under IRC Section 401(h). He conducted a series of seminars for the State Bar of Wisconsin, National Business Institute and the University of Wisconsin Small Business Development Center on a variety of business and tax-related subjects, including limited liability company law in Wisconsin, buying and selling of businesses, choosing the appropriate business entity for small to midsize businesses, and tax controversies.
