Husch Blackwell LLP Represents Algonquin Power & Utilities Corp. in US$2.4 Billion Utility Acquisition

Husch Blackwell represented Algonquin Power & Utilities Corp. of Oakville, Ontario and its Liberty Utilities subsidiaries in their $2.4 billion acquisition of The Empire District Electric Company of Joplin, Missouri, announced today.

The transaction continues the firm’s long-standing relationship with Algonquin and its U.S. subsidiaries, which has included assistance in the acquisition of regulated utilities and renewable power generation facilities across the United States.

The Husch Blackwell transaction team is comprised of partners Jim Goettsch, Craig Kovarik and Kirstin Salzman; senior counsel Michael Eason; and associates Andrew Bergman and Anna Kimbrell.
