Kansas City, Mo., April 7, 2016 -- Husch Blackwell advised GridLiance Holdco LP of Chicago in its acquisition of the electric transmission assets of Tri-County Electric Cooperative (TCEC) in a transaction announced April 4, 2016. The assets comprise approximately 410 miles of 69kV and 115kV transmission lines and related substation infrastructure.

GridLiance, the nation’s first competitive transmission company focused on collaborating with public power, assumed full operational responsibility for TCEC’s transmission assets, including meeting federal state and regional compliance requirements, on April 1, 2016. The closing also made effective a long-term co-development agreement between both parties. GridLiance will represent the interests of TCEC of Hooker, Oklahoma, and its members in planning and developing new transmission projects within the Southwest Power Pool, Inc.

“This is a tremendous step forward for GridLiance and its mission,” said John Crossley, partner in Husch Blackwell’s Energy & Natural Resources group. “We look forward to participating in the growth and development of this innovative company.”

Other members of the Husch Blackwell team were partner Kyle Barry, senior counsel Mike Eason and Ali Nelson, and associate Kimbrell, Anna R.

Financial terms were not released. Additional details of the transaction are outlined in the GridLiance press release.
