City and Team Both Win With New Arena

Case Study

The NBA’s Milwaukee Bucks threatened to leave the city without public funding for a new arena. The Wisconsin Center District hired our team to assist in creating a P3 arrangement to develop, finance, own and operate the new arena.

We helped the District create a P3 arrangement in which the parties share development costs, the Bucks are responsible for cost overruns, the District owns the arena and the Bucks develop, lease and operate it. The arrangement commits the Bucks to play home games in Milwaukee for 30 years and secures that commitment with one of the strongest non-relocation agreements in professional sports.
