Steve concentrates his practice on the representation of developers, lenders, community development entities and investors on projects involving state and federal rehabilitation tax credits and New Markets Tax Credits. His representation is national in scope and includes counseling and advising clients in all aspects of tax credit transactions, including initial structuring concerns and negotiation of business and legal issues throughout the transaction.
Steve's lending experience includes real estate, construction, cash flow and asset-based loan transactions. He represents lenders and borrowers nationally in traditional and syndicated transactions.
In the area of real estate law, Steve routinely counsels clients during the acquisition, development, leasing and sale of commercial, retail and multi-family residential property. These transactions include new developments as well as rehabilitation projects.
Steve has represented several municipal entities, including cities and levee districts.
Steve is an adjunct professor at Washington University School of Law. He regularly speaks at NMTC conferences around the country.
