Shawn advises developers in the creative application of federal and state low income and historic tax credits, as well as other development incentives. These incentives have been the catalyst for multimillion dollar projects involving affordable housing, historic rehabilitation, student housing, hotels, mixed-use and other commercial developments. His forward-thinking counsel has assisted for-profit and non-profit clients with structuring layered transactions, federally insured loans and tax-exempt bond financed deals. He also represents developers in tapping public financing tools such as community improvement districts, transportation development districts and tax increment financing districts.
Shawn's experience extends to representing clients in all stages of complex real estate, business and leasing transactions and assisting borrowers and lenders in complex lending transactions.
