Scott concentrates his practice in the areas of real estate and development, tax credits and commercial financing. As to tax credits, he represents a variety of clients in transactions involving New Markets Tax Credits, historic rehabilitation tax credits and other tax credits. Such transactions often combine various tax credits, public incentives and equity investments to maximize development funds available to a project.
Scott represents real estate developers in all aspects of real estate development, including acquisitions, municipal incentives, financing, management, leasing and sales. In addition, he represents private equity funds in national real estate acquisition, management and disposition, involving multi-state portfolio acquisitions of properties developed for retail, entertainment and office use.
Scott also handles a variety of commercial financing matters, including the structuring, negotiation and documentation of both secured and unsecured loan and credit facilities, credit enhancement facilities, construction loan facilities and other risk participated facilities. He also represents clients in the structuring, negotiation and documentation of loan workouts.
