Sarah was born into a family deeply entrenched in the oil and gas industries, compelling her to serve numerous areas in the energy sector. Before joining Husch Blackwell, Sarah was Associate General Counsel for Aquila Merchant Services Inc., a New York Stock Exchange-listed energy utility. She was responsible for environmental, health and safety regulatory compliance and due diligence in 11 states and managed a team of engineers and staff that oversaw the day-to-day operations at, as well as the construction of, coal and combined-cycle power plants and natural gas pipeline systems. Sarah also responded to alleged violations and noncompliance claims and managed related environmental mediation and litigation. Her responsibilities further included negotiating contracts for the acquisition or sale of assets, stock, real estate and land.
