Bob is a member of Husch Blackwell’s Food & Agribusiness team, and his practice includes environmental, safety and health compliance, permitting and enforcement defense. He represents large domestic and international clients in the agricultural industry engaged in all aspects of seed, fertilizer and pesticide manufacturing and distribution. In addition, he has experience with environmental issues related to farming and ranching operations, including waste management, odor and air pollution issues, and point and nonpoint source water discharges to surface and ground water. A member of Husch Blackwell’s Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) team, Bob advises clients on the lawful use of commercial UAS in precision agriculture and in the collection and use of environmental data.

Bob also assists clients in the specialty chemical, mining, energy, communications, product manufacturing and waste management industries. Drawing on his technical background and more than 20 years of legal experience, Bob applies his strategic counsel in substantive environmental, safety and health areas, including air, water, wastes, land use, toxic chemical regulation, pesticide regulation and site remediation and redevelopment. His efficient analysis of complex technical regulatory issues mixes with creative solutions that balance his clients’ business needs with regulatory requirements and stewardship responsibilities.
Before entering private practice, Bob was an environmental attorney for the multinational agricultural biotechnology corporation Monsanto Co. His primary responsibility was in air pollution compliance issues for all of Monsanto’s domestic locations.
Additionally, Bob also gained experience as an environmental manager for Freeport-McMoRan Inc., where he was in charge of environmental permitting and compliance in the sulfur mining division.
