As a member of Husch Blackwell’s Technology, Manufacturing & Transportation team, Julia has substantial experience representing manufacturing clients in various types of litigation nationwide. Since 1997, she has handled litigation of all types, from inception through disposition. Julia has represented manufacturing industry clients, financial services clients and various commercial entities in all manner of commercial litigation, ranging from simple contract disputes to complex fiduciary claims. Julia also has significant experience defending product liability and toxic tort litigation involving a wide range of products, materials and machines. Julia works closely with clients to ensure that cases are handled in an efficient and cost-effective manner and, when appropriate, helps develop business strategies to reduce the risk of future litigation.
In addition to her litigation work, Julia serves as a first point of contact and “outside general counsel” for manufacturing clients. She assists these clients with customer and vendor disputes, contract review for contracts typical of a manufacturer (supply, non-disclosure, equipment leases), and provides initial advice and referral guidance as needed for every legal need, ranging from employment advice to environmental compliance.
Julia also has experience advising clients on compliance with the Medicare Secondary Payer Act (MSP) and the Medicare, Medicaid, SCHIP Extension Act (MMSEA), particularly from the perspective of a litigating defendant.
