As a labor and employment partner in Husch Blackwell’s Technology, Manufacturing & Transportation unit, Jeffrey helps employers manage their employees through an increasingly regulated workplace and with other business disputes. Jeffrey defends employers in all types of employment disputes, including regional and national wage and hour class and collective actions. Jeffrey also serves as lead trial/arbitration counsel in discrimination/harassment litigation, in contract disputes and in traditional labor arbitrations. Jeffrey has handled defense of judgments on appeal, including before the U.S. Courts of Appeal, and before various state courts of appeal. In addition, Jeffrey also represents clients in the Healthcare, Life Sciences & Education industry. For more than 17 years Jeffrey has represented both Saint Luke’s Health System and Shawnee Mission Medical Center in all of their employment-related matters, including day-to-day counseling and litigation. Jeffrey also represents ARJ Infusion Services Inc. in employment and restrictive-covenant litigation.
Jeffrey regularly conducts human resource audits, policy reviews and training sessions on effectively managing employees, including anti-harassment, Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) training. He has negotiated, drafted and litigated executive employment agreements, restrictive covenants and trade secrets. Jeffrey is a frequent speaker on a variety of labor and employment topics.
