Pete concentrates his practice in health law, information management, privacy and security matters. He frequently advises clients on healthcare contracting, health information management, research compliance, fraud and abuse, the Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act (EMTALA), the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act (HITECH), managed-care, medical staffing, Medicare/Medicaid, patient care and operational, regulatory and transactional issues.
A former assistant general counsel for the Missouri Department of Mental Health, he was named a Husch Blackwell Partner in 2006.
Pete has also served as assistant professor of psychiatry and law at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine.
