Paul focuses on labor and employment law in a national and international litigation and counseling practice spanning 25 states, the District of Columbia and the United Kingdom. He has successfully handled Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) class/collective actions involving employee misclassifications, off-the-clock work and donning and doffing on behalf of clients with facilities nationwide. He also has represented employers in arbitrations before American Arbitration Association (AAA) and Federal Mediation & Conciliation Service (FMCS) panels.
Paul has first-chaired numerous employment discrimination jury trials in state and federal courts, all of which returned verdicts in favor of his clients. In other cases, he obtained summary judgment for the defense on sexual harassment, age, gender and disability cases.
Paul is a frequent speaker and trainer to business groups regarding employment obligations and management strategies.
Paul was Chair of the Husch Blackwell Labor & Employment Department from 2000 to 2009.
He initially joined the firm as an Associate in 1990 and later practiced with another firm for four years before returning in 1997.
