Hospitals and physicians are searching for new ways to integrate and align incentives to help them deal with several issues: shrinking physician reimbursement; bundled payments and Accountable Care Organizations; greater competition for certain specialists; and the challenge of building a primary care base. Curt and Daniel discuss the strategic, operational and legal structures used and considered around the country, along with the pros and cons of various models, from traditional employment to group practice subsidiaries and clinical co-management arrangements.
