Mike focuses his practice in the areas of business and commercial litigation, product liability and insurance litigation. He has successfully represented businesses in a variety of industries in commercial disputes resolved through litigation, mediation and arbitration. Commercial disputes Mike has handled include breach of contract and breach of warranty; fraud, trade secret and unfair competition claims; and corporate governance and shareholder disputes. Mike has won numerous bench and jury verdicts in state and federal courts and has appeared before the Nebraska Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit, and as counsel of record before the U.S. Supreme Court.
In product liability litigation, he has defended lawsuits involving pharmaceuticals, toxic chemicals, industrial equipment, ladders, railroad crossing signals, forklifts and firearms. Since 2006, Mike has served as national coordinating counsel for the Gases and Welding Distributors Association (GAWDA) on issues relating to product liability.
In the area of insurance litigation, Mike has represented insurance companies regarding coverage disputes, bad faith claims and insurance regulatory litigation and represented insured individuals and companies in defense of professional liability, property damage and catastrophic personal injury claims.
